You've scheduled your shoot and now you don't know what to wear. Don't fear I've got you covered! We've all been there atleast once. Let's face it choosing something to wear can be extremely stressful. Finding what to wear is easier with a little guidance so let me give you some tips.

Don't Match, Coordinate

When choosing something to wear you don't want everyone to match. Coordinate colors by picking 3-4 colors from a pallet. Such as; Blue tones, neutral tones, earth tones. Try to stay away from extremely bright pastel colors unless that fits your personality. Wear something that compliments your best asset. Not only will you feel and look more confident but you will fall inlove with your photos even more if you love what you are wearing.

Things to Stay Away From

Logo's! This should be a no brainer but let's be honest sometimes we forget and just throw something together. Logo's can be a huge distraction and draw others to whats on your shirt versus what you and/or your family looks like. Another big no no is just wearing black or white. But why? I know black and white is always a go to essential for everybody even myself and I've even made this mistake once or twice. When wearing black and white it can take away from the photo. Also make it harder to want to hang them up around the house as it may not fit your home atheistic. When it comes to white we like to just keep that color for just newborns. It compliments them well and really draws you into every detail on there preciousness.

Textures and Layers

Textures are great to wear to a photo shoot as well as layers. What i mean by that is denim, cotton, wool. silk and linen. When layering you may want to wear a jacket, scarf, cardigan, a nice hat, beanie and vests. Remember textures and layers are never a bad idea and can really add to and make a photo.

Comfort over Uncomfort

Make sure you and/or your family are comfortable. Clothing that is not to tight will restrict some movement making you unhappy leaving with less photos of smiles. Comfort is highly important as it helps you be more relaxed during the session especially if its the kids.

Dress to your style because at the end of the day it doesn't matter. Wear what makes you the most happy and shows who you and/or your family are! Photos really represent who you are as a person as well as tell a story. I hope this guide has helped you in choosing the best outfits for your next photo session.
